SizesChoose a size approx 5 cm (2 in) less than your actual head size for a snug fit. Sizes given are finished hat brim circumference.
Yarn choicesYou will need DK/light worsted yarns. I used Jamieson’s pure wool DK, a lovely shetland yarn. Wool or natural fibres are recommended to allow the hat to be wet-blocked into shape (instructions and links to tutorials included).
Construction and skillsHat is made bottom up in the round.skills include:Circular knitting (pattern assumes the use of a circular needle with magic loop for crown decreases, but is easily adapted for your preferred circular methods)Basic lace knitting skills (yarn overs/ paired decreases etc)This hat needs blocking to achieve the shape shown and open the lace.
