Product Description

This is a pattern for a little bunny. He’s 2.5" tall (with ears), so he’ll nicely stick out from your Easter basket or any other spring decoration. Oh, and there’s also his pal, a bunny finger puppet. Of course, they’ll be happy to keep you company, not only during Easter. I hope you’ll enjoy making both! To make things easier for you, there’s a handy printable version at the end of the file. Just be careful, they’re both quite sneaky… and a bit crazy.

You're very much welcome to join my group's CAL featuring this little guy:) - here.

Little Bunny and Finger Puppet Crochet Pattern

What Is Being Made

This downloadable crochet pattern by designer Justyna Kacprzak includes instructions for creating two charming bunny designs: a small standalone bunny toy measuring 2.5 inches tall (including ears) and a matching bunny finger puppet. Both designs are perfect for spring decorations, Easter baskets, or year-round companions. The pattern features playful, character-driven designs with a whimsical personality.

Crochet Techniques Used

The pattern employs fundamental amigurumi and toy-making techniques suitable for intermediate crocheters. Construction involves working in continuous rounds to create three-dimensional forms, with shaping achieved through strategic increases and decreases. The designs utilize the magic ring or chain foundation method typical of small crocheted toys, allowing crafters to build compact, sturdy pieces from the center outward.

Stitches and Abbreviations

The pattern uses the following essential crochet stitches:

  • ch – chain stitch, used for foundation and structural elements
  • sc – single crochet, the primary stitch for building dense fabric
  • hdc – half double crochet, used for varied texture and structure
  • inc – increase, created by working 2 single crochets in 1 stitch to expand rounds
  • dec – decrease, worked by combining 2 single crochets together to reduce stitch count

The pattern notation includes x5/x3 to indicate repeat sequences and (n) to denote the number of stitches in each round, providing clear guidance for tracking progress.

Materials and Tools Required

Yarn: The pattern calls for 100% acrylic sport weight yarn in gray and white, making it an economical and easy-care choice for toys. Sport weight yarn provides excellent stitch definition for small projects while remaining manageable for intermediate skill levels.

Hooks and Notions: A 3mm crochet hook is specified for working with the sport weight yarn. Additional materials include 2 small black beads for eyes, black and pink embroidery floss or thread for details, a sewing needle for assembly and embellishment, scissors, and fiberfill stuffing (recommended if making the ami version of the bunny).

Pattern Features

The downloadable PDF includes a convenient printable version for easy reference while crafting. The pattern provides complete abbreviation lists and materials guidance, making it accessible for intermediate crocheters ready to tackle small amigurumi projects. Both the bunny toy and finger puppet can be completed with basic supplies, and the compact finished size makes them ideal for gift-giving or decorative purposes.
