Lady's Lace Ascot

This pattern includes both an ascot and a scarf.

The Lady's Lace Ascot is a small, interesting lace project. After the beginning border is worked sideways, the body of the ascot is picked up and knit up the length of the piece with the ending border worked across the end. The ascot lays nicely around the neck, keeping you warm without being in the way as you knit or otherwise carry on with your day.

The Lady's Lace Scarf is constructed in the same manner with a longer mid-section. The scarf can be worn long or wrapped double around your neck.

The pattern includes both written directions and charts for the lace stitch patterns.

The samples were knit in Jorstad Creek's Isle of Skye Yarn which is very similar to Rowan Kid Silk Haze. Other suitable kid mohair lace yarns include Debbie Bliss Angel, Lana Grossa Silk Mohair, and Austermann Kid Silk. You could also work this ascot in a lace weight yarn without mohair such as Cascade Alpaca Lace.
