Lace Knitting Scarf
You can work as many repeats as you like to make the scarf be the length that you need or to the amount of yarn that you have.
I have also seen this piece worked using other weights of yarn and larger needles.
This design includes three different edgings, depending on the amount of fringe you want on your scarf. If you do not want any fringe and you make the scarf with only 7 repeats of the chart, 440 yards should be enough. I recommend getting 880 yards, because then you can make the scarf longer as desired and add fringe if you’d like. Because this is a beginner pattern, I made things easy and gauge is not important, the learning is what this piece is about. There is detail on chart reading, blocking and a picture tutorial of the special stitch used. It is worked in knit stitch throughout with yarn over increases and knit decreases.
I used lace weight yarn, 880 yards per 100g with US size 4 needles. This piece can be made using yarn and needle combination that you are comfortable with.
