See chart below for approximately how much yarn you will need.*A note about this yarn* Though it is classified as an aran yarn, it is much closer to a DK/ LIGHTWEIGHT 3. If you are not using the suggested yarn, I would use DK/LIGHTWEIGHT 3 with a 5mm hook OR use Aran/Worsted weight yarn with a 4mm hook when you gauge swatch.
Construction
This is a raglan style cardigan and is worked from the top down. The hood is added and then each sleeve.
Fit
The cardigan is meant to be oversized and worn as a jacket with clothes underneath. It should fit with a positive ease of about 4-7 inches around the chest. If you would like the jacket to be fitted, I would size down.
