After releasing my Interstellar Shorties pattern in June of 2025, I thought “what if I didn’t knit socks?” I wanted to create another small project that incorporates the colorwork pattern used in these popular little socks, but even easier to knit.

A great way to learn how to do stranded colorwork in the round, the Interstellar Cowl is a portable project that is easy to work on in all seasons and easy to wear in the fall and winter. Knitting this cowl will give you plenty of practice for colorwork knitting without having to worry about carrying floats. It is worked in the round, from the bottom up, with no seaming required.
