Sirdar/Hayfield yarns have sadly gone down the brae. Yarn now has an extremely rough handle, with quite a few knots in it. Lovecrafts on the other hand, keep you informed every step of your purchase, from vendor to delivery. .
I've been using Sirdar/Hayfield yarns for decades, but have in recent years noticed a decided slump in quality. I got three rows into a sweater for my son, when the yarn length came to an end, as though it had been wound on as an afterthought. Not what one would expect from a well known brand. It's also very rough now, again a detrimental difference in quality. Other than these issues, Lovecrafts can't be faulted for customer service. I was kept informed of order from vendor to fast delivery. Lovecrafts 10/10. Sirdar Hayfield sadly just meh. I'm

Very happy with the wool and the company
I bought 3 skeins of this yarn to crochet a blanket and it is excellent. It's easy to work with, it does not split and so far there have been no knots it in (I'm halfway through the second skein). The blanket it going to be very cosy, I'm really pleased with how it's turning out.
The wool was recommended on the pattern and the finished garment has worked out well. The wool was easy to work with, nice texture and no splitting. I would use it again.
