Knitting Techniques Used

This advanced beginner knitting project employs several fundamental techniques to create a polished finished garment. The pattern utilizes stockinette stitch as the primary fabric, combined with ribbed detailing that provides structure and elasticity. The construction method involves working separate front and back pieces, which are later assembled. The pattern incorporates stitch holders for managing stitches during construction, and stitch markers to track pattern repeats and shaping increases or decreases. A circular needle is used for the neckband finishing, allowing for seamless ribbed edging that sits comfortably against the neck.

Materials: Yarn and Needles

The Hanne Top is designed to be worked with Rowan Alpaca Haze yarn in a sport weight classification. Yardage requirements range from 5 balls (25g each) for the smallest size to 9 balls for the largest size.
