Giorni di Sole
Giorni di Sole (in Italian Sunny Days), is a square blanket, ideal for newborns and babies, that can easily be turned in a bigger throw. It’s made of 49 granny squares joined together with a little decorative border. It’s a perfect pattern for beginners and color lovers!
The gauge is not crucial. Every square is about 13 cm but it doesn’t really matter to stick to that measurements.
I’ve used Scheepjes Colour Crafter in 8 different colors: Yellow (Leuven – 2008) for the centers, white (Barneveld - 1005) for the border and 6 more colors of your choice as contrasting colors. I have used Middelburg - 1003, Texel - 1019, Eelde - 1422, Bastogne - 2015, 1010 Amsterdam and Rhenen - 1188.
You can use any DK yarn or even a different yarn weight altogether!
