Product Details
These baby rattles are a perfect handmade gift for a baby. The pattern includes written instructions for a rattle bee and two different rattle flowers with illustrated instructions on how to assemble the rattles.
The pattern is designed for a worsted weight yarn (9 wpi) with an E/4 (3.5 mm) hook. You can also use a lighter worsted weight yarn (8 wpi) with a D/3 (3.25 mm) hook to get slightly smaller rattles. A cotton yarn will be ideal for a baby toy, however, feel free to use alternative fibers.
You will need a tapestry needle for sewing in yarn ends and attaching the wings, toy stuffing and safety eyes for the bee (optional, 12 mm).
The following rattle inserts are recommended, but can also be substituted with a similarly sized alternative.
• Big Flower: medium flat rattle ~ 30 mm/1.2“
• Small Flower: small jingle ball ~ 25 mm/ 1“
• Bee: big jingle ball ~ 25 mm/ 1.5“
