Product Details
First Frost was inspired by the delicate patterns of the first frost of autumn. I wanted to create a simple, easily remembered pattern that would work up quickly. The ‘cable’ isn’t a cable at all; no cable needle required. The pattern repeat is intuitive and interesting, and consisting of only knits, purls, yo’s and decreases, is a suitable adventurous beginner pattern.
First Frost can be worked up in an aran or heavy aran weight yarn, and also looks beautiful in more rustic or handspun yarns.
Intended to be worn with a slouch, you can also knit First Frost as a beanie. The pattern is offered in one size, as the stitch pattern stretches a good deal.
I’ve included both written and charted instructions for the stitch pattern, so use whichever you are most comfortable with. I hope you enjoy my ode to Autumn. Happy Knitting!
