Don't feel up to knitting a full-length Dr. Who scarf, but like to read? Here's a pattern for a bookmark inspired by the famous scarf. It's a great way to use up the few yards of yarn left over from various projects--it won't take more than twenty. You will need seven colors of yarn (I used a little less than three yards of blue, two of dark brown, four of green, four of light brown, two of purple, three of red, and two of yellow), size 3US/3.25mm needles, and something to weave the ends in with...there are a lot of ends. For your sanity, I recommend weaving the ends in as you go.
Gauge is not important. The bookmark measures about 19in/48 cm, including fringe.
