What’s this: This is the Crossed-seams hat, initially designed as one of 4 patterns included in Furls Crochet’s Quarantine Kit.
Why should I make this: The Crossed Seams Beanie may look like a difficult project, but it really isn’t. Simple stitches and minimal shaping lend it its intricate texture and look. All the magic of this beanie happens at the very last step: crossed seaming.
When will this get the most use: Written in 9 different sizes, you’re sure to come back to this pattern over and over, to make it for everyone in your life.
Who is it for: 9 sizes, baby to adult.
Where do I start: This pattern is rated Easy - you’ll need to know or be eager to learn the basic crochet stitches. You will need 100 g of DK weight yarn (I used Whims Merino by Furls) and a 5 mm hook. Other notions: a yarn needle and some stitch markers.
