Product Details
The interesting pattern on this baby blanket is mosaic or slip-stitch knitting. Only one colour is used in any row, the remaining stitches are simply slipped. The basic pattern is garter stitch, so no purling at all, which makes for a thick, warm blanket. The pattern has two options for edges. You can make the blanket as shown with solid borders added after the main blanket has been finished, or if you do not want to pick up stitches, you can knit the borders at the same time which will result in striped borders (not shown). The pattern is both written and charted so you can work from whichever you prefer.
This pattern would be suitable for the beginner with some experience. Only knit and slip stitches are used. If you wish to have a blanket with solid borders you will also need to know how to pick up stitches.
