The Contrast Vest is a wearable oversized unisex vest featuring a colourful geometric design. This knitted waistcoat combines contemporary oversized styling with vibrant colour patterns, creating a statement piece suitable for all ages and sexes. The design is versatile enough to be worn individually or as a coordinated family or couple project, making it an expressive garment that completes any daily look.

Design and Inspiration

The vest draws inspiration from Fair Isle techniques, incorporating popping colours and geometric shapes throughout the design. The oversized fit adds modern trendiness to the traditional Fair Isle aesthetic, resulting in a unique and characterful piece.

Knitting Techniques Used

• Bottom-up construction: The vest is knitted from the bottom edge upward
• Circular knitting: Colour patterns are worked in the round from the bottom to the armholes
• Flat knitting: The front and back sections are worked separately back and forth after the armholes
• Fair Isle colourwork: Geometric patterns in multiple colours create the distinctive visual design
• Shoulder grafting: Shoulders are grafted together for a seamless finish
• Simultaneous shaping: V-neckline and armholes are shaped at the same time on the front sections
