The pattern works well. I needs a bit of initiative because it requires casting on in the middle of the piece of work both sides, but the pattern diagram shows a straight line which cannot work: if I cast on extra stitches then I have to turn and knit a row before I can cast on the stitches the other side of the tree, so there is one row more one side than the other: this does not show up on the pattern diagram, but the written instructions are clear.
