Cable Sampler Dishcloths are a collection of functional kitchen textiles designed to showcase multiple cable stitch variations in a single project. Each dishcloth features different cable techniques worked in 100% cotton yarn, making them both decorative and practical for everyday kitchen use. The project demonstrates how various post stitch combinations create distinct textured cable patterns across individual dishcloths.

Techniques Used

This advanced crochet project employs post stitch techniques as the foundation for creating authentic cable effects. The primary techniques include front post double crochet (FPdc) and back post double crochet (BPdc), which are worked around the posts of previous stitches rather than into the tops of stitches. Materials

Yarn: Knit Picks® DishieTM 100% cotton yarn in worsted weight. Each ball contains 3.53 ounces (100 g) and 190 yards (174 meters). Each dishcloth requires approximately ¾ of one ball. The project features three colorways: Linen, Crème Brulee, and Chestnut. Comparable worsted weight cotton yarn may be substituted if Knit Picks® DishieTM is unavailable.

Tools: A 4.00 mm (G) size crochet hook is recommended to achieve the correct gauge of 8 hdc and 7 rows per 5 cm (2") unblocked square. A yarn needle is required for weaving in yarn ends upon completion.
