Go to your local yarn store, where your friendly neighborhood button pusher will be happy to supply you with all the buttons you need, to make as many hats as you wish.
This easy little cabled hat will show off your favorites. Use small buttons for the babies and kids, larger for the grownups. The pattern assumes that you know how to cable and read a cable chart.
Note: Buttons can be a choking hazard for babies, just as they would be on sweaters. The knitter assumes the risk in this pattern. If you are concerned, simply omit the buttons on a hat that will be near a baby.
The hat is sized for baby through adult. The baby hats use a DK-weight yarn that knits at 5.5 stitches per inch. The adult hats use a worsted-weight yarn that knits at 5 stitches per inch.
