Am currently knitting a Rowan pattern which requires Rowan Lurex Shimmer. As this is sadly discontinued Anchor Artiste Metallic is a fine substitute.

I like that this 'floss' has enough substance to be crocheted like a fingering weight yarn, but if using alone it does get a little crunchy (because of the metallic foil, so t be expected). Would be easier to use solo if it was a little less stiff foil and a little more plyable yarn, but honestly the effect is actual GOLD which most floss or threads cant do on their own without being doubled. Great carrying yarn as long as the base yarn isnt fuzzy (snagging). Definitely unique to my collection...
