I learned to knit and purl when I was a kid, and of course cast on and off, but that was really it. I taught myself to do Fair Isle, but did very little with my knowledge as I did not have pocket money to buy yarn, so it all died away. In 2012 I had an unexpected urge to start knitting again, and told my partner of 13 years what I wanted to do. Oblivious to the fact that I had learned when I was a kid, he was fascinated. I started off with various squares to get back into it, then made a little sheep and a small plain teddy bear. Moved on to making a poppy for Remembrance Sunday then an Aids Awareness Ribbon, I of course wanted to do more and more. Then came the hats and scarfs, next thing Christmas 2012 was on the way I decided to make some things for the Christmas tree. Not happy with little items, I decided to take the plunge and make Stephen Wests “Old Forge”. In the words of Miranda Hart “Such Fun”. After a conversation with Stephen West I was inspired to carry on and make more of
