I have been knitting since childhood, my first attempts were at the age of 5 when my grandma taught me how to knit a sock. Shall I mention that I only knit 3 rows and bent a needle? Yet, I got addicted to knitting during my darkest times in 2020, when I tried knitting as a form of therapy for fighting depression. I find knitting very relaxing, inspirational and creative, it helps to stay focused and also makes great DIY products in the end. My knitting-related hobbies include buying yarn, taking photos of my creations. I also knit for charity – tiny socks for premature babies at hospitals, bigger socks for seniors in nursing homes. Of course, I knit for my family, and those poor dudes always get some knitwear as a gift. Knitting is our family tradition – my mom is a knitter, my grandma was a knitter, and her mother, I guess, was too.
