When I saw this pattern I knew I had to make it. My granddaughter Alice turns 11 this month so I shall give it to her then and hope she won’t be too embarrassed by it. She has been going to Karate classes for a few years now but has suddenly grown up and behaves more like a teenager, sometimes very grown up, other times not. It was all quite straightforward to make, but I used DK yarn rather than Aran weight so the panda is quite small. I then had to adjust the size of the Gi to get it to fit. All the yarns I found in my stash.

This is so lovely Helen and so perfect for the karate theme. I once made a red panda or should I say tried from the dotpebbles racoon pattern. I could still have nightmares about it. It should have been easy as their markings on the face are quite similar but it was tricky although I did get there in the end. Not planning on another just yet😊
Love this. Very authentic
He is one very cool red panda
Lovely job Helen, so cute, i bet your granddaughter will just love 🐼
This is lovely. Granddaughters can be tricky, I’ve got 3, but they always love gifts from Granny 🥰
What a lovely idea Helen to knit the Red Panda in his Karate Gi for your granddaughter Alice, a gift to treasure and so beautifully knitted 🥰💕
Thank you Valerie. I can only hope ! 🤞🤔
A great pattern and you have made him up really well - sure he will become Alice's favourite mascot! 😀
Love your kung fu panda. Alice will love him. It's a great idea matching soft toys to hobbies. One of my granddaughters is 11, so I know just what you mean!
