Yellow Submarine

Make an aquatic voyage of discovery with this cuddly submarine, and make friends with a whale and octopus along the way. These make a super set of playtime toys, or suspend them on a baby’s crib mobile for a sea-life themed bedroom. This knitting pattern uses acrylic DK yarns and single pointed needles (work flat, not in the round). Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz. The submarine measures 17cm long x 15cm tall, octopus 13cm tall (with tentacles pointing downwards), and whale 11cm across (from front of head to tip of tail). For confident beginners and above, techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, short rows (wraps and turns), changing colours at the end of a row to knit stripes, and seaming to finish.
