Not sure how to cable? Try some faux cables instead. The wavelets cowl cable-look is made using just knit and purl, in super chunky. No need for buttonholes either - the big stitches allow you to poke your buttons through wherever you'd like.

This pattern is easy to upsize - get yourself some extra wool and keep working the same pattern until it's as long as you like for a double (or triple!) loop.
