Turkish-Style Toe-Up Socks

Explore the knitting structure of a Turkish sock without the extra distraction of stranded colorwork. These were based on the toe/heel construction of a pair actually knit in Turkey, which LynnH owns.

Using only one yarn, we can focus on unusual construction details such as a toe-up O-wrapped cast on, four-part swirl toe, upside-down Dutch heel and two rows of simple Bosnian slip-stitch crochet.

Yarn: 100-200gm DK-weight yarn (multicolored works best) Needles: US 2-1/2 (3mm) DPNs, set of 5. Crochet hook size G/4.25mm.

Finished Dimensions

• Heel to toe: 8.66 / 9.33 / 9.75 / 10.66"
• Floor to cuff top: 7.5 / 8 / 8.75 / 8.75"
• Foot circ: 6.75 / 7.33 / 8 / 8.66"
