Verla, the owner of Unraveled Sheep in Sandy, Utah always has great ideas. She came up with this idea for a baby sweater, and offered the idea to me. I threw in a few design elements myself and ended up with a one-piece baby sweater. Easily knit in 2 days.
The sweater is knit sideways all in one pieces and uses a combination of garter and stockinette stitches.
In order to size the sweater I used simply used different yarn weights and different needles sizes. Size 2 is worsted weight on US #8 needles. Size 1 is dk weight on US #6 needles. Size 3-6 months is fingering weight on US #3 needles.
I even played with the color change on the 3-6 month size and it came out very nicely.
