Sunglow Shawl

It’s all about the texture, friends. My

usual design process involves dreaming up a

prominent feature that is central to the

knitted item, such as a lovely cable panel.

Then I develop the supporting actors:

borders, transitions, textured sections. But in

this case, the supporting actors came first! I

learned the Texture Stitch and knew it would

be just amazing in a shawl. To compliment

the stitch pattern, I created a fun variation on

the standard cabled twist. Add in a simple

slipped garter border and ta-da! Shawl!!

The color and textures of the Sunglow

Shawl remind me of golden afternoons in late

summer, and it cheers me up every time I

wear it. I hope you enjoy this project as much
