Snowy Pines Hat

This is a top-down crochet hat in all sizes. It uses dk weight yarn, and features a special stitch, the Christmas tree stitch, which is my own invention! The stitch is much quicker than embroidering all the trees onto a plain hat.

Suggested hook size: 3.5 mm

Yarn weight: dk/8-ply/light worsted.

Suggested yarn: any warm, soft yarn that meets gauge. I used Yarnsmiths Create and James Brett Twinkle for my samples.

Sizes available: baby/toddler/child(teen, (adult S)/adult (M-L) To fit head circumference: 37-41/42-46/47-52(53-56/57-61) cm

Gauge: 17 stitches and 9 rows of double crochet (dc) worked in the round = 10 x 10 cm.

Yardage (will vary slightly according to yarn used): Total yardage = 100/130/160(170/180) m or 110/135/175(185/200) yards This is split between several colours. The main colour will use a little over half the total yardage.
