Sirène is an asymmetric, boomerang shaped shawl. It uses a simple knitted pattern stitch on one side and purling on the opposite to show off this beautiful yarn. While this was done with a gorgeous [Miss Babs variegated yarn][3], the stitch also looks beautiful in tonal and solid colors. This shawl also has a secret - you can see that there is a \"Scale\" like stitch but when light shines through it, the scales disappear and tiny flowers appear. One of those happy accidents of designing!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe border is seed stitch followed by a picot bindoff. It is a fairly simple pattern, requiring k1fb, knits and purls, k2tog,  and pulling a stitch over the stitches just knitted.
