Salt Water and Sea Stars

The beautiful blue of the water and the sand, seashells, sand dollars, and sea stars are all images I see when I think of the ocean. This shawl brings them all together with a beautiful yarn and a pretty crossed cable motif. Choose a similar beachy yarn, or any other colour palette you prefer, and enjoy the easy shaping of this end-to-end shawl with just enough of a challenging lace pattern to keep it interesting and fun.

This pattern was designed in Akara Yarns Merino Sock but any fingering or sock yarn will work. I used my entire 420 yard/ 384 m skein of yarn. (The pattern also includes instructions for making the shawl larger with more yarn).

Finished Measurements: Approximately 17 inches (43 cm) deep at middle point and 68 inches (173 cm) long across top edge, blocked.

Skills required: Increasing, decreasing, knitting lace, blocking your shawl. Stitches used: k, p, kfb, k2tog, SKP, yo, 2/2/2 LPC (this cable stitch is explained in the pattern).
