Safrani is knit with two fingering weight yarns at a gauge that makes it lightweight and easy to wear – the contrasting color used in the ribbing requires little yardage and is a great way to use up leftover sock yarn. Safrani is knit flat in one piece from the top down, with a scoop neck shaped with short rows and sleeves ending in very slight puffs. The button bands are added once the cardigan is complete, and buttonholes are created with a simple but interesting technique.
