The main body of this tree skirt is made with single crochet stitches to create a tight, sturdy weave, and allow for your lettering to be the star. Single crochet increases are strategically placed in each row to create a circle that doesn’t take on a pinwheel effect, and without creating a hexagonal or octagonal shape, as is often seen with tree skirts.
The border is ribbing made with front post and back post double crochet stitches, which add texture and a pop of contrast, though it would look beautiful in the main body color too.
There is a chart included for making the letters. They are cross-stitched on top of the finished tree skirt, and in-depth photo instructions on how to cross-stitch on top of a finished crochet project are included.
