Rosy Mittens

I love bold, almost abstract patterns. These mitts pair up some simple patterns along with bold roses! These mitts have a long story over two or three years; involving color changes, gauge changes, many mitts knit up, mittens getting lost at a now closed down magazine, till I finally gave up and started again in the colors I really wanted all along!

These mittens use 6 different colors of yarn: Two are the main colors: Oyster Heather (A, cream), and Coriander Heather (F, darker cream) Three reds are used in the Roses: Tomato (B, bright true red), Raspberry Heather (C, cool toned red), and Rosehip (D, coral toned red) One contrasting color is used: Turmeric (E, deep dirty yellow) One ball of each will be sufficient The mitts are fitted, with long cuffs. The thumb gusset is shaped, giving a right hand and a left hand. The cuff is turned under, and stitched down for a clean finish. They are knit from the bottom up. The pattern is charted.
