There are complete instructions for working from the easy to read chart and for hooking on the beads. There are only a few beads (84 4mm cubes glass beads, Miyuki #). The beads are optional. If you choose to hook on the beads, you will need a 13\/14 steel crochet hook. The beads are NOT strung onto the yarn.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe top and bottom edges are seed stitch, for good stability and the lace design pulls the sections into scallops.
