Product Description
Pandora is posh pooch who knows what she likes. Her perfect day would include a bit of shopping (she's very happy to be carried around peeking out of your Prada tote bag), a slap up lunch, (preferably at the Dorchester) and, of course, no poodle's day out would be complete without a trip to the hair dressers to tidy up those poodle puffs, (better book an appointment at Vidal Sassoon on South Molten Street!)
If you think you've got what it takes to keep Pandora in the style to which she is accustomed then she'd love to come and live with you!
Made with Light Worsted weight yarn and a Size D (3.25mm) hook Pandora measures approx. 11" (28cm) tall.
Suggested safety eye sizes - 12 mm
This pattern is written in American crochet terminology and includes a handy stitch conversion chart so you can translate to British crochet terms instead should you wish to.
Pandora the Poodle Crochet Toy Pattern
What is Being Made
Pandora the Poodle is a crocheted amigurumi-style toy designed by Moji-Moji Design. This downloadable PDF pattern provides instructions for creating a decorative poodle figure, suitable for display or as a handmade gift. The finished project results in a three-dimensional stuffed toy with characteristic poodle features.
Craft and Technique
This pattern is created using crochet, a fiber craft that uses a single hook to form loops and stitches from yarn. The project is classified as intermediate difficulty, indicating it requires familiarity with basic crochet techniques and the ability to follow more complex pattern instructions. The pattern uses American crochet terminology, which differs from British crochet terminology in stitch naming conventions.
Stitches and Techniques Used
The pattern employs fundamental crochet stitches and techniques, including:
- Chain stitch (ch) – the foundation stitch used to create the base of the project
- Single crochet (sc) – a basic short stitch used for structure and shaping
- Double crochet (dc) – a taller stitch that may be used for certain sections
- Slip stitch (slst) – used to join rounds and create seamless transitions
- Invisible decrease (invdec) – a shaping technique that reduces stitch count while maintaining a neat appearance
- Loop stitch – a decorative stitch technique used to create the characteristic fluffy poodle texture, created by inserting the hook into a stitch and drawing a loop over the finger
Materials and Yarn Specifications
This pattern is designed for DK weight yarn, a medium-light yarn weight that provides good stitch definition and is suitable for creating detailed amigurumi toys. The pattern includes measurements in both metric and imperial units (centimeters and inches), as well as gram weights for yarn quantities. A crochet hook appropriate for DK weight yarn is required, though the specific hook size is detailed within the PDF pattern itself.
Pattern Format and Structure
The pattern is provided as a downloadable PDF document created by independent designer Moji-Moji Design, copyrighted in 2014. The instructions include comprehensive pattern notes, terminology guides for translating between American and British crochet terms, and clear abbreviations and symbols to guide crafters through each round and row of the project.
