Painted Desert Poncho

Make a colorful retro poncho in warm Fall colors! Although this poncho uses traditional granny squares, it gets a "painted" look by working with 3 strands of fingering weight yarn and changing 1 color every 2-3 rounds.

Yarn requirements: Fingering weight yarn, approx. 750 yards (686 meters) total. The sample shown uses approximately 125 yards (114 meters) of ea of the following colors: Yellow, Gold, Orange, Dark Orange, Red, and Green.

FINISHED SIZE: One size fits most. Poncho measures about 25” (63.5 cm) along center front, falling about 30” (76 cm) from shoulder (excluding fringe), and is about 32” (81 cm) wide.

GAUGE: 4 rnds = 3” (8 cm), 3 sets of 3 dc = 3” (8 cm).
