Product Description

Paintbox Yarns Chenille is a 100% polyester chunky chenille, 120m (131yds) per ball, knitting to 10 stitches and 19 rows over 10cm on 6.00mm (US 10) needles; recommended crochet hook 6.00mm (J). Paintbox Yarns is our own brand, designed in house.

The pile is the whole point: chenille is softer against the skin than a standard chunky and works up into a dense, velvety fabric with a faint sheen, which is why it suits baby blankets, afghans, cushions and cosy jumpers and cardigans.

The pile hides stitch detail, so it works best in plain fabric — blankets, cushions and soft toys.

Care: delicate machine wash at 30°C, do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not bleach.

Disappointing shedding issues

I was slightly disappointed, especially with the Rose red. The chenille just kept falling off, so it was very difficult to crochet with and virtually impossible to pull back. It shed all over the place, leaving bits of red fluff everywhere. It was tricky throughout. I just had to be careful and not make mistakes.

a lovely, soft, cuddley wool in a great colour pink combination

lovely colours. I chose the pink mixture. knits up beautifully and is lovely and soft. Only fault is it does not like being undone and redone and the material tends to come apart easily i.e. the fluffy part comes off. I made a winter jacket and its quite warm to wear. I would recommend to confident knitters.

Paintbox chanille chunky

Used a solid colour as well as the speckled for same project and the softness was totally different.
