Noughts and Crosses

The motif for this wrap is one of many in Barbara Walker’s Mosaic Knitting – which I consider a treasury for anyone interested in creating designs using mosaic motifs. The shawl is worked in garter stitch and knit in one piece – from one end to the other. I would consider it a good introduction to mosaic knitting by chart for advanced beginners.

I used two 300g skeins of a bulky merino wool yarn (8 wpi) in a dark blue/green (Color A) and yellow (Color B): any commercially available bulky - or heavy worsted - weight yarn would be suitable.
