Product Description
This elegent combination uses super soft alpaca that drapes easily and feels light to wear. The cowl is worked using a larger size needle than called for with a 5 st/inch gauge. This allows for more openness and drape. It closes with a button that is hidden under lace collar. The Hat is knit around the brim and closes with a partial seam. Sts are then picked up for top. The button is an embellishment.
Yarn: Worsted weight with a gauge of 5sts/inch is suggested for both the cowl and hat.
For the cowl, you will be using a needle that is 2-3 times bigger than for the hat to increase the gauge. For the hat, you want the needle size suggested for the yarn. (see gauges below)
Gauge: Cowl: 15 sts = 4 inches in stockinette st. Hat: 20 sts = 4 inches in stockinette st.
Needles: Cowl: One 16” circular needle in US7 - 9 depending on gauge. Hat: One 16” circular and 1 set of double pointed in US5 - 7 depending on gauge.
