New Sensations is a bottom-up striped shawl with a story — born at a men's knitting retreat and surviving what I can only describe as knitting trauma. The result is a reversible rounded triangle you'll actually want to finish. Adventurous beginners welcome: if you can knit, purl, and follow stripes, you can make this. You need: US 4 & US 5, 40" circular needles; 2 skeins fingering weight yarn (sample in Moonstone and Magnetite); gauge 24 sts x 20 rows per 4" in blocked garter. Finished size: 40" x 40" x 64" reversible rounded triangle. Sample knit in fingering weight yarn (Moonstone + Magnetite). Debbie Bliss Rialto 4 Ply is a comparable merino alternative.
