Techniques Used

• Template cutting: Leaf shapes are cut using provided templates. The pattern calls for cutting 128 Leaf Templates from a selection of 15 fat quarter prints, requiring careful placement and consistent cutting.
• Fussy cutting: The Yellow Print (fabric 7374-12) is fussy cut into 12 rectangles measuring 1½" x 4" specifically for the Flower Assembly sections, meaning the quilter must deliberately center or isolate a motif within each cut piece.
• Strip piecing: The Grass Fabric (7375-14) is cut into 4" x WOF (width of fabric) strips, which are then pieced end-to-end for length. Importantly, the striped print must be carefully aligned when joining strips before trimming the long strip to an unfinished measurement of 4" x 62½" for use in quilt assembly.
• Block construction: Both 5" and 10" finished blocks are pieced and assembled into the quilt top, requiring accurate seam allowances throughout.
