The pattern size is based on DK and Aran yarn but you can use whatever yarn you like. It's hard to give a guide to yarn usage as the pattern gives many size options, but an estimate of 400gm for a baby blanket should give you an idea to start.

Stitches used are CH, DC, TC.

I use a 4.5mm (DK) or a 5.5mm (Aran) for the blanket and a 4mm or 5mm for the blanket border.
