May Day Baskets - Knit

May Day Basket: Make small baskets filled with treats or flowers to give secretly to friends and neighbors.

It is customary to leave the basket on the doorstep of a neighbor or friend, ring the doorbell and run away.

Materials:

Needles: Size US 4 / 3.5 mm needle.

Yarn Used: Mountain Meadow Wool, LaBarge (Sport Weight / 2 ply: 100% Lincoln Wool: 200 yds / 56g per skein)

Yardage in weight/grams used in sample: Charcoal (Dark Grey) 9g, Oatmeal (Light Grey) 6g, Pop Of Color 11g.

Other: Tapestry needle.

Gauge: Approx. 20 sts and 40 rows per 4" / 10 cm in pattern sts.

Basket - 12” tall not including strap.
