I have never used such fine yarn (lace) so it has been a learning curve. Also mohair does not unknot easily as becomes tangled.

Marmor is a loose fit, comfortable sweater with a flattering classic shape. The name references the Danish word for 'marble', inspired by the aesthetic of the garment's patterning. This downloadable knitting pattern is available in three size ranges: S/M, L/XL, and XXL/XXXL, with finished chest widths of 115, 134, and 153 centimeters respectively, and lengths of 57, 59, and 60 centimeters.
Stranded Knitting: Marmor features a two-color pattern worked in stranded knitting, a technique where two colors of yarn are carried across the back of the work to create colorwork designs on the fabric surface. The designer employs an unconventional approach to this traditional method, adding visual interest and complexity to the finished sweater.
The pattern utilizes standard knitting construction techniques suitable for an advanced-level knitter. The sweater is worked primarily in the round using circular needles, which is a common method for creating seamless garments.
Yarn Weight and Type: Marmor is designed for DK weight yarn—a medium-light yarn weight that creates fabric with good drape and stitch definition, ideal for displaying colorwork patterns. The pattern recommends yarn with approximately 225 meters per 100 grams.
Suggested Yarn Options: The pattern provides specific yarn recommendations including DK Twist from Madeline Tosh, Dale Lerke, Cotton Merino from Drops, and Puna from Drops. The featured sweater pictured in the pattern was knitted in hand-dyed, 100% merino wool from Chester Wool DK, which provides a luxurious feel and excellent stitch definition for the stranded colorwork.
Yardage Requirements:
The pattern requires 4 mm needles in the following configuration:
Gauge Importance: The pattern emphasizes that knitters should always select a needle size that achieves the specified gauge, as every knitter's tension is unique. Proper gauge is essential for achieving the correct finished measurements and ensuring the sweater fits as intended.
Marmor is classified as an advanced knitting project, reflecting the complexity of executing stranded colorwork in an unconventional manner while maintaining consistent tension across two colors and managing the construction of a garment in the round.
