Product Description

These fingerless mitts feature a pretty flower motif inspired by the flowers of the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum). Flax is used to make Linen. It used to be grown widely in Norfolk for the British linen industry. Sadly our native linen production died in the early 1950’s with the last crops produced on the Royal Sandringham estate.

These mitts are worked in the round from the cuff down. With a plain knit cuff and hem knitted on smaller needles and a thumb gusset shaping for a good fit. They feature a stranded colourwork motif and contrast colour to the hems.
