Lace stitches open up the fabric while cables draw together stitches in sweeping lines of denser fabric to create visual interest. I created a simple border featuring a sequence of single buds which gives the piece a delicate scalloped edge.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eA note regarding yardage.\u003c\/strong\u003e I used 2 skeins of Malabrigo Silkpaca for this shawl.
