Isabell Mittens

These are children's mittens in 3 sizes: 1-2 yrs, 2-5 yrs and 5-8 yrs. They are knitted on dpns in the round, but magic loop may also be used. Gauge s 28 sts & 30 rows per 10 cm (4 in).

I have used a 3 ply sport/fine weight yarn (Drops Baby Alpaca Silk) that has 167 metres per 50 grams, and recommends needle size 3.5 mm. Note that I have gone down a needle size to 3.0 mm to achieve gauge.

In addition I have used a Kid Silk yarn held together with the main yarn either for part of the cuff, the whole cuff, or the entire mitten. This is up to you to decide what you prefer.

Main yarn: Approx. 25 grams main yarn Additional yarn: Approx. 10 grams for the whole mitten Size 3.0 mm double pointed needles (or size needed to achieve gauge). I recommend using wooden needles when using silk yarn to keep the stitches from sliding off. Pointed needle for weaving in ends.
