Note: Oddments of yarn may be used to work the handkerchief edgings. The final rounds of edgings 3-6 may be worked in a contrast colour.
Materials required: No 10 or No 12 thread – 15-50 metres/18-55 yards approx in main colour plus 5-10 metres/6-12 yards contrast colour for edging (optional), 1.50 mm crochet hook, approximately 25 cm/10-inch square of white cotton or lawn for each handkerchief (a ready made handkerchief may be substituted if preferred)
Gauge: Not really important but Round 1 measures about 1.25 cm/½-inch high.
Pattern for matching reticule (bag) is also available to make a wedding gift.
