Gnome blanket Knitting Pattern - Knit and Purl only

Knit something magical with this very easy Gnome Blanket. The border is worked in garter stitch, while the cheerful gnome with his tall hat and fluffy beard is also knit in garter stitch against a smooth stockinette background. With only knit and purl stitches — no charts, cables, or colorwork required — this project is wonderfully simple yet creates a striking effect.

The final size of the project will depend on the yarn and needle size you choose. Here are examples for three different yarn weights:

Sport weight (5 ply) with 3.5 mm (US 4) needles:

65 × 65 cm (25″ × 25″) — approx. 400 g

DK (8 ply) or worsted weight (8 ply) with 3.75 mm - 4 mm (US 5-7) needles:

80 × 80 cm (31″ × 31″) — approx. 600 – 650 g

Aran weight (10 ply) with 5.5 mm (US 9) needles:

90 × 90 cm (35″ × 35″) — approx. 700 – 750 g
