Product Description
This lovely shawl is made using three distinct stitches: The focal stitch is an intricate stitch that comes to us from Japan. The mesh stitch surrounding it and the cable is an unusual one that shows off both of the other stitches to their best. The cable is a ribbed cable that is also unique. In combination, they make a beautiful shawl, that has a natural scallop on both ends.
The focal stitch is both charted and written out.
The final size is 22 1/2 inches X 74 inches. There are instructions for an optional edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting)
The yarn used in the sample is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport, undyed.
Almost any heavy weight fingering yarn or sport weight yarn will work for this pattern.
No crochet hooks are needed if you opt not to make the optional crocheted edging.
